interlocking, layered, and jammed up -- As I prepared for these pieces, I envisioned myself zooming into my past works, investigating the repetitive motions and motifs. With my imaginary lens finder, I began cropping small sections to stretch out in the field. With the tool of a restricted palette, these pieces form as a catharsis to unfolding and releasing traumas and emotionality. The almost thoughtless process of thin lines connecting and conjoining, forces the creator’s focus to be based solely on movement.

Melding together the use of personal photographs and objects in range of sight while working, I create a guideline of sight. A commute,an outing, a building entrance, a relationship; are remembered through their simplicity. Using patterns, small forgotten elements of the architecture of a space or color, a logo in the photos, the piece becomes a representation of the act of remembering. Intertwining those traceable scraps of images with meaningless objects in my current environment, such as a febreze bottle, an umbrella or produce, etc., a new relationship is formed.
