This stage of my life was confronted with a large amount of travel and various living spaces. I was working out of 3 locations at once, which led to an ideal situation to investigate collaging when painting wasn't feasible. I found myself in loud and distracting spaces, which allowed me to explore another aspect of my practice. This led to creating marks and scraps that were easy for me to control while in dual focus, or what some may call multi-tasking. With attention divided, the pieces seem to evoke unique focal points, free from hesitation and bringing about a new sense of the ‘maker's hand’ than seen in my past work. This project series was very foundational to my current work process.
